What Happens on Sundays? What Happens on Sundays?
We have age-appropriate activities for the children from birth to fourth grade (children enter the youth ministry in fifth grade): • We have a nursery and toddler room (first building on the right as you enter the campus) staffed by people from the body who rotate leadership on a monthly basis. They are assisted by homegroup helpers assigned from the larger body to serve a few times a year (see below).
• PreK/K meet from 3:45-5:30 in the Christian Education building to the right as you exit the sanctuary. They have playtime, worship, stories, and snacks under supervision of children's church leaders and Sunday school teachers.
• First through Sixth Grade children in church from 4:00-4:15. They are then dismissed for children's church followed by Sunday school until the adult worship service is over.
• Summer times at SBCC the activities vary from the Sept-June program
We involve the whole church in of the discipleship process for our children. Homegroup helpers are assigned to assist in the children's ministry activities on Sunday. • provides children opportunities to interact with adults other than their parents who love the Lord
• provides opportunities for childcare helpers to see God at work in other venues besides the adult worship service
• provides opportunities for helpers to serve the ones Jesus called to Himself (Matt. 18:5)
Leaders involved in the Sunday program seek to reflect their own relationship with Jesus Christ as they prepare age-appropriate activities or lessons that help children grow in their knowledge of God and His church. © 2002 - 2008, Santa Barbara Community Church |
