Talking with Your Children in October

The children began studying John with the rest of the church last month. Each week has a faith focus as well as scripture memory suggestions. Knowing this should help you as you seek to point your children toward Jesus at home.

The schedule for this month looks like this (italicized faith focus and suggested conversation topics are bolded ):

Oct. 5th: John1:19- 23 (And paraphrase of following)

John the Baptist believed Jesus was God’s Son. Each of us can find out Jesus was God’s Son. Chance to talk with them about what they think about Jesus.

Oct. 12th: John 2:1-11
Jesus has God’s power in His life (because He IS God!)-important for them to help them understand why we follow Jesus.

Oct. 19th: John 2:12-25

Jesus cares how we worship-great chance to discuss why/how we worship

Oct. 26th: John 3:1-36

Jesus offers us new life-super opportunity to talk with your children about how to accept Jesus

Preschool: John 1: 1-5

1^st & 2^nd Graders: John 1: 1-12

3^rd Graders: John 1: 1-14

4^th Graders: John 1: 1-18
